10 day @ Kihaad Maldives, January 2017

Already in late summer 2016 we began to plan our holiday in Maldives that should be by the beginning of 2017. Mrs. Bucher noted all our wishes and offered us several resorts. After various discussions (thank you for your patience, Mrs Bucher) ;-) it was clear that we would spend our holidays in Kihaad.

On January 11, 2017 it was finally time. With the direct flight from Zurich to Male we started our adventure. Unfortunately, we could not land in Male because of a bird on the runway and therefore missed our connecting flight. The 2 1/2 hours waiting time in the lounge luckily passed quickly. Food and drinks were served free of charge. We arrived at Dharavandoo after a 20-minute domestic flight, took the boat without further waiting time and from there we reached Kihaad within 5 minutes, our PARADISE!

The welcome was very cordial and refreshing. After the usual information about the resort we were accompanied to our villas. We loved it! The bungalows are newly renovated and huge. Also the rest of the lush vegetation left nothing to be desired: the food in the "Hanifaru Bay" Buffet-Restaurant was brilliant, the Pasta station top class. The service was always very friendly and attentive. The newly created pool with its stylish bar invites you to linger during the day and in the evening.

We booked several times a treatment at the Spa. It is absolutely recommended, the massages are a relief.

Also the other offers like Stingray feeding, theme nights, excursions etc. left nothing to be desired. The whole island is very clean.

The house reef is very species-rich. The best time to snorkel is in the morning. We saw the turtle, which was mostly close by the jetty, every morning.

We enjoyed the 10 days without shoes very much and had troubles to get back to daily life...

We cannot say anything negative about our wonderful holiday and recommend Kihaad with the best conscience. Also Mrs. Bucher, who is really a very competent tour guide.

12 days @ Kihaad Maldives, October 2016

For several years we have not spent a holiday by the sea. With the goal of spending our holidays in the Maldives in January 2017 we started the planning. Anyone who knows Mrs Bucher personally knows that there is no better holiday planner and consultant for a holiday in Maldives. After several conversations to Mrs Bucher, we knew what island our holiday destination should be: Kihaad! Since there is high season in the Maldives in January, we decided to travel in autumn. For 12 days "travel to paradise" ... what an outlook!

With the airline Edelweiss we were able to fly directly from Zurich to Male. We continued with a domestic flight and a short boat trip. We received a warm welcome on the island of Kihaad. Our first impression: What the pictures on the internet show about Kihaad corresponds to reality! A beautiful barefoot island with newly renovated bungalows awaited us. The view to the sea, the fine food, the cordial staff, the diversity of animal life (under and over water), the temperatures, the nice room and the weather were very convincing! The house reef is intact and you can see many different kinds of fish.

The highlight of our vacation was the snorkel trip to the Manta rays. It was such an unbelievable expierence to see and observe these animals live.

At this point, we would like to say thanks again, Mrs Bucher, for the competent advice and care. This holiday will be unique! Those who would like to experience one-time Maldives holiday should get in touch with Mrs Bucher and start the planning.

14 days @ Nika Island Resort, October 2015

We can fully agree with the previous reports, also we spent two wonderful weeks in the Maldives. Which, thanks to the super organization (consulting, booking and travel arrangements) of Mrs Bucher and the perfect pampering program by the staff on Nika, our holiday was a memorable and wonderful one, which we will remember for a long time.

We have been thinking a long time about spending our silver wedding anniversary in the Maldives with the idea of a 2nd honeymoon. For us it was very important to be personally advised and book a tailormade arrangement. Thanks to my dear colleague, we came to know about Mrs Bucher. From the first moment we felt at ease and understood in their hands. Her patience, despite our loads of questions is noteworthy, her expertise and love of the profession let us come to the conclusion that we will book with Mrs Bucher and wanted to spend our holiday on the small island called Nika Island Resort.

We were advised very competent by Mrs Bucher, it began with the booking and continued until the day before we left. We were again contacted and informed about the progress of the check-in at Zurich airport until our arrival on Nika but have been also informed about the procedure on the way home. We were even given phone numbers for any questions, as well as the request, in case something should not be ok to immediately contact Mrs Bucher. What a service even on holiday, where else do you get that service! Everything went smoothly as we were told. The experience we had upon arrival in Male, has shown us once again that we were right with your booking at Mrs. Bucher. After a long flight, we were welcomed by a very friendly staff from the Nika Resort. He accompanied us to the check in for the seaplane, handled  all the paperwork and then escorted us to the departure terminal where we relaxed in the lobby after our long flight, just awesome.

And then, the approach to Nika, yeah, finally here ........ then this warm welcome and the welcome aperitif with all the information, what to expect on the island. And then we faced our Deluxe Beach Villa which was our home for the next two weeks. Simply amazing, the view from the bedroom to the private beach, the huge bathroom with the outdoor shower, the living room and then the beach just gorgeous. And since we knew we had found our little paradise. We were pampered during our stay by all the staff- in short of all - spoiled and were able to just let dangle your soul, enjoy it and be pampered. One of the absolute highlights was the romantic dinner on our private beach as well as the Scuba diving certificate thanks to the compentent guidance of the instructor Filippo.

After two fantastic weeks we had to leave Nika again, with a crying and a laughing eye, but we knew we will be back.

There would be so much to tell, but it is difficult to take such a beautiful and impressive holiday in the right words, you have to just experience by yourself.
For anyone who likes a personal and professional advice from the very beginning until after the return, we can highly recommend Mrs Bucher.

7 days @ Angaga and 7 days @ Safari Island, October 2015

"2 weeks dream holidays!"

At the beginning of this year we decided to travel to Maldives during our fall holidays. MaledivenBucher GmbH was recommended to us by friends, so we have contacted Sunya to place our wishes and ideas. With a lot of dedication, competence and patience Sunya has found two matching Islands for us, which fully met our expectations. What a great service!

By the beginning of October our journey started and we enjoyed the direct flight with Edelweiss Air from Zurich to Male. After a two-hours stay at Male airport we took the seaplane with impressive views on the way to Angaga.

After a warm welcome including welcome drink our new home for the next 7 days was ready. We moved into our water bungalow and were first impressed by the terrific views. The bungalow has become a bit old and small defects were detected, but that's hardly worth mentioning.

Angaga is a very familiar, small barefoot island with a lot of charme. The beach areas are beautiful and generous. The house reef is largely intact and rich in species. The restaurant with sandy soil is very cozy, the food varied and tasty, there's something for every taste.

After a week, we took the speedboat to our second resort Safari Island. After a fast-paced hour drive we were also warmly welcomed on Safari Island. Our water bungalow was already waiting for us. The bungalow was practically identical to that of Angaga, but more generous in space and new. Here we were able to swim right from the bungalow to the house reef, which was not possible on Angaga. The house reef was breathtaking! Big schools of fish, turtles, rays, eagle rays, sharks and countless different colored fishes, gorgeous!

The restaurant and bar were built in a large tent over the water, the tiled floor in the restaurant and the modern style seemed a little cool and was a little less traditional and charming, but certainly also very nice. Again, the food was good, but a little less varied than in Angaga.

The highlight was the private day excursion by Dhoni including 3-man crew! We were allowed to choose what we wanted to do. So we were looking for Mantas and have actually found one, very impressive! Next we went snorkelling on a beautiful reef, also there we have seen an impressive underwater world. On the way back we were lucky to meet twice a dolphin group of about 15-20 animals, a wonderful experience, a better end of dreamlike vacation you can not wish for!

The decision to divide our holiday on 2 islands was a good one and we would not hesitate to book this way again.

Many thanks again to Sunya for the very competent and personable advice and organization and the always open ear! It was certainly not the last time that we have booked with MaledivenBucher GmbH and we will certainly recommend her too!

8 days @ Komandoo, September 2015

A "holiday in the Maldives" was in my head for a long time already; in spring 2014 I started to realize this dream.

For hours I sat at the computer and informed myself about the Maldivian islands, until suddenly, by chance, I came across with the following website:

This page looked very likable and intimate. So I got in contact with the owner of this small private travel agency, Mrs Bucher, by e-mail. I described my wishes and everything took its course.

Mrs Bucher proved to be very friendly and could go well into my personal desires. All the bookings were done up professional, very competently and quickly. She was always open to my questions and her service did not end, after the booking was settled, no, it went far beyond that - we knew we could contact her also during our trip or during the stay if we had any questions, or would have needed help.

All this distinguishes Mrs Bucher, her travel agency and her service. Dependable, friendly, warm, personal, competent and professional.

Anyone who is planning a holiday in Maldives, I can highly recommend Mrs Bucher. The success is granted for sure and we would book at any time with her again.

On Tuesday 8th September 2015 the time had come. At 15:35 clock we took off with the giant bird A380 from "Emirates Airways" in Zurich-Kloten. A very good and recommendable airline. At 23:40 clock was landing in Dubai. Our stoppover here was for 3 days at the hotel "Crowne Plaza". We visited the largest building in the world, the "Burj Khalifa", the various souks (markets) in new and old Dubai, a river cruise on the Dubai Creek and then the large water features with the right music for it. The whole city is special, all very impressive on the dimensions here, and conspicuously clean with friendly people.

On Friday, 11th September we continued our journey from Dubai to Male, capital of Maldives. Once there we were greeted by a personal guide who helped us with the luggage reception, quickly smuggled us through passport control and led us to a minibus. This brought us to the small departure lounge of "Transmaldivian Airways". From here we had a 35-minute flight by seaplane to our island "Komandoo". A special and very beautiful flight over all these gems.

In the late afternoon we simply arrived in paradise. First, we were greeted on the jetty by the hotel manager personally and he then took us to the reception of the hotel. What we did here is typical for the Maldives. A small group of staff greeted us with singing and drums and a waiter brought us fresh coconut milk and coconut ice cream. Quick check-in and then we went to our water villa booked. A big "wow" and marvel at simply everything.

The next 8 days were just great! Everything was just right. The service, the friendly staff, the excellent food, etc. Komandoo is a small (500m long, 100m wide) barefoot island in Lhaviyani Atoll with a 4-star resort. Quiet, clean and dreamy, so right for switching off. You can set up the day by yourself, sometimes just lying around and read, go snorkeling and admire the colorful underwater world, water sports, or take a boat trip. We have made such a boat trip one day in the evening, with the intention of having a bit of luck to meet dolphins. We were really lucky out there and met them in swarms.

After 8 nights and 9 days this beautiful holidays were already over again. We have nothing to complain about and can only recommend a stay on this island. The trip home went smoothly. On Saturday, 19th September at night we are well landed in Kloten again.

They were beautiful, impressive and happy holiday, which we owe to a large part of Mrs Bucher and her unique service. What remains are the wonderful memories!

We hereby thank you again very sincerely, Mrs Bucher and wish you and your travel agency good luck and success.

17 days @ Nika Island Resort & Spa, November 2014

As usual, the trip went with Emirates via Dubai to Male. By seaplane we went towards Nika Island.

At Nika we were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink and got information and instructions about the island, great service!

The Water Villa is a sensation. Very spacious and homely decorated, all you need is available. The breathtaking view is pure relaxation.

The house reef is easily reachable via stairs to enjoy and admire. The underwater world on Nika presents itself, partially still in good shape, in all its splendor.

The food at Nika is great. A choice of menu or buffet where you get everything you could wish for.The staff is very nice, attentive and helpful. We were really spoiled at this time.

In summary, Nika Island is a top resort that leaves nothing to be desired.

Thank you, Sunya Bucher,  for another perfect organization and the top service, once more! The next Maldives holiday I will book again through MaledivenBucher GmbH! Thank you!

9 days @ Safari Island, September 2014

"Unforgettable holiday at Safari Island!"

After 16 years of absence it was time for us again to fulfill a long-yearned dream to return to Maldives and so we traveled with our 11 years old son in the autumn holiday to the Maldives, precisely to Safari Island.

Mrs Bucher lives in the same village as we do, our children are in the same class and we know there was actually only Mrs Bucher to organize our trip.

Since we stayed on Mayaafushi in 1998, we already had an idea of how our island should be about. Mrs Bucher has given us excellent advise, she offered us over 9 different islands including all details of our concerns; in the end the decision was made in February to travel to Angaga Island. But unfortunately, it came out in June that the island is rebuilt exactly during our travel time and so the search started again, but in the end we choose Safari Island, and we were not disappointed.

The unforgettable journey began in Zurich, where we started with the A380 in the direction of Dubai. The advertisement says "Fly Emirates" everywhere and in fact - with the space, the service, the food and the entertainment there was nothing to desired at all on the flight. In Dubai itself, the next highlight followed. Dubai is full of sparkle and a different world, perfect for a 3 hours stay, no limit shopping..

After a calm flight we landed in Male, where unfortunately the weather was stormy and rainy, what was something new..  But even there, we were warmly welcomed at the counter of Safari Island and accompanied to the seaplane terminal with no delay. The flight by seaplane was the next highlight for us, we could not see enough of the beautiful islands. At Safari Island we were welcomed with a drink and a cool towel and after a brief check-in time we could settle in our semi-Water Bungalow.

There was nothing to be disappointed on the island during any second. It is a barefoot island, how it is to be expected from the Maldives. We did not want too much luxury, but enjoyed now one shot of luxury on a standard island. The landmarks of the island are the two white tents of the bar and the dining room. We enjoyed during 9 days three times a day lovely food, excellent, friendly and attentive service, wonderful sea views and an unforgettable flora and fauna.

The buffet was very rich, with local dishes, pasta, fruits, fresh breads, toasts, fresh fish, chicken, beef and omelets. The dining room and bar are located over the water and on the reef. We got a table right on the edge of the room so we could watch the fishes, look out over the sea and watch unforgettable sea moods.

The house reef is intact and you snorkel in the middle of fishes, sharks and rays. Safari Island has a small uninhabited island that can be reached without problems while snorkeling. There live many hermit crabs and you can find beautiful shells, but unfortunately it also flooded with some waste which is not removed.

The pool is surrounded by palm trees, we watched fruit bats and our son enjoyed splashing around without fear of getting injured by corals.

The island is well maintained, it is cleaned daily and it was planted with great care, which can be observed across the island in every corner even while walking. The island can be surrounded on the beach. From the diving school to the end of the last water bungalows it’s about a 5 minutes walk.

All bungalows (beach and Semi Water bungalows) are equal on the ground plan. They are tastefully decorated and spacious. The bathroom is closed, but reachable by an extra door from the sun terrace, which was very pleasant with the sandy feets. I had never encountered as much storage space in a bathroom. You get morning and evening bath towels, sometimes we had up to 9 fresh towels in the room! The bungalows are cleaned 1-2x daily. Further you get on a daily basis a free bottle of water per person. In the semi-water bungalow you can enjoy a lot of privacy on the private terrace and you have a direct access to the sea and to the house reef.

The highlight of Safari Island was the trip by Dhoni. From 7 days stay guests are entitled for a day trip, for over 14 days stay, you will get two days with an overnight on the Dhoni. The day before we choose a menu and then off you go. The dhonis are beautifully decorated and the crew is very caring and friendly. We wanted to see manta rays and dolphins, eat on an uninhabited island and fishing. Everything was fulfilled, except the manta rays, they were not found, unfortunately. We spoiled many other islands from the boat, enjoyed the sea air and the hospitality of our crew.

A few words about the weather. We were 9 days on the island, it rained 4 days. 2 days it rained incessantly through, but the rain could not dampen our spirits. The island is beautiful and so relaxing, even in the rain it has its charms. The snorkeling is possible in all weather and storm, you just go to the downwind side. Next time we would rather take a Bach Bungalow, since they have a covered terrace and you can sit outside even in the rain, which is not possible in the other bungalows.

The trip home went like clockwork. Mrs Bucher booked for us always those seats from where we were very quickly out of the plane and passed through all the checks.

We would like to thank Mrs. Bucher for her perfect service. She has an open ear for all requests and gives good suggestions due to her big experience about the Maldives. We wish her continued success.

7 days honeymoon @ Komandoo, February 2014

"We are still bowled over by the island and cannot imagine something better!"

The extent of an unforgettable journey actually began already in Zurich. We flew with the new Airbus A380 of Emirates Airlines! Mrs Bucher has recommended as this company and we were amazed. At the gate, we counted around 21 flight attendants, but most probable there were even more. The aircraft is very generous and also the seat ratio is just grea . The food was a class of its own. This plane cannot be compared with another one. Otherwise it would be just like the comparison with a Lada to a Mercedes Benz! The approach to Dubai was sensational, a glittering world of its own.
At Dubai airport we went to the restaurant "The Hub" which was recommended by Ms Bucher. This was also a very good tip from her.

Arrived in Male we checked-in our baggage baggage for the seaplane and were taken afterwards to an air-conditioned lounge. Now we can watch the bustle of the water taxis. During this time I switched from my winter to the summer wardrobe. The flight with the water taxi was another highlight. The pilot was barefoot and everything was extremely easy. I made around “felt” 100 photos of the beautiful islands.

Finally arrived on Komandoo, we were welcomed with singing and drums. In a welcome drink we were told that we will be rebooked for a day in a water villa, hurray ! Since we did not know already at home which villa we should book, we were able to get a picture of that room category too. Simply fantastic, it was terrific! We had no words , pure luxury awaited us. The villa was so beautifully decorated. Champagne and lots of fruits were offered to us. The bed was decorated with many beautiful flowers and we got two Honeymoon T- shirts. A large terrace with a direct sea entry and 2 large double beds, a perfect place to enjoy the sunset with your loved one. Everything was very generously equipped. The island was circumnavigated in about 10-15 minutes and extremely quiet. Where are all the people? We thought that the resort was not full, but this was not the case.
The next afternoon we were taken to our booked Beach Villa with Jacuzzi. So really, even this villa was really nice and big. Perhaps not as bright and luxurious but definitely with the same charm. Again, everything was beautifully decorated. The special feature here was the outdoor bathroom! Just beautiful to take a shower outdoors. In a large deck one could hang out and chill, just next to the hot tub. Everything was extremely clean! The small porch with left and right of the bushes gave us privacy. The white sandy beach and the turquoise sea at our feet made us feel in heaven!

The restaurant was very nicely decorated and the food was excellent and with a large selection. Our waiter was even able to speak German. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. We always got a table right by the sea and the good waiter already knew in advance what we wanted to drink.
The bar is very nicely decorated and the selection of drinks is enormous. Happy Hour should not be missed, because maybe if you're lucky, you can see Dolphins from the bar.

The house reef has convinced us as snorkelers. We have seen so much beauty, rays, baby sharks, turtles, shoals, many colored fish and so much more.

Recommendation: The hotel offers twice a week a sunset on the sea. Mostly you can spot dolphins and much more, pure romance.

This was our best vacation for two, more romance does not work!

Thank you, dear Mrs. Bucher, you have been very professional and gave us very good advice and your service was outstanding. We will be happy to recommend you to others and wish you all the best.

2 happy travellers from Switzerland
Stay @ Antantara Kihavah Villas, November 2013

After a quiet and pleasant flight with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul we arrived well in time at Male airport. Fine drinks & snacks were served in the airport lounge, until our seaplane took off towards Kihavah. What would expect us?

We love the Maldives and this was already the 5th time that we treated ourselves to a trip to paradise.
Thanks to the great advice of Sunya we were full of anticipation for our first stay in the Baa Atoll.

The birds view of the island looked very pretty. Lush vegetation and lots of palm trees. The welcome was warm and the welcome drink with an ice-cooled towel a nice refreshment. Our Beach Villa was ready with Prosecco and fresh fruits! A wonderful sandy beach with lots of shells. The weather was beautiful with a steel blue sky. Heavenly!

A tour around the island was then on our program.
Since the weather had been quite rainy three weeks before our arrival, the mosquitoes were very active and loved us much.. :-) That was absolutely new for us. Our villa host then gave us an anti-mosquito spray and that helped.
During this time he had unpacked and put away all our stuff, a nice luxury.

After a wonderful and almost perfect sunset we tried the restaurant Salt and were spoiled with fine Asian cuisine. Our first day was nearing its end.
The next days we devoted to diving and snorkeling and were even rewarded with the encounter of manta rays. A unique experience.

Our favorite restaurant was the Fire (Japanese cuisine); the staff was so nice and accommodating and any culinary wish was fulfilled. The special Wagyu Beef was excellent. Since the occupancy was low, we were even treated to an upgrade in a Water villa. On the sunset side, just gorgeous. The rooms are very tastefully decorated.

Every morning we went to the Power Yoga class with Ghitu. This experience we don't want to miss in any case, a great start to the day and after one hour sweating with exercises, we could enjoy the huge breakfast buffet.

On Tuesday evening we enjoyed the weekly island disco and also burned some calories there. But most of all we just enjoyed the island life, sunbath and swimming & reading and let your mind wander. The massages at the Spa completed our great stay and we enjoyed the peace & the cozy togetherness.

A wonderful holiday, a great island and especially employees who love their job and make guests feeling at home.

Kihavah, a little paradise in paradise. Farewell tears included!

Greetings from two happy travelers.

8 days @ Komandoo, November 2013

The island Komandoo is just fantastic!
But first things first .....
From Sri Lanka we flew with Emirates to Male. It was our first flight with this airline and we just loved it. Generous seating space, great service, delicious food and very good price/performance ratio are some reasons to choose Emirates again and put up with a stopover in Dubai.
Arrived in Maldives everything ran smoothly like a clockwork : After check-in our baggage for the seaplane we were comfortably waiting in the lounge for our flight to Komandoo - including cold towels and water. The seaplane flight over these islands was already a highlight in itself!
Upon arrival at Komandoo we were greeted by the team with drums "Welcome to Komandoo, we wish you a relaxing holiday" and after a welcome drink we could move quickly to our Beach Villa with Jacuzzi Dolphine 4. A spacious, generously furnished and decorated room with open-air bathroom. The small terrace with a few stairs led directly to the white sandy beach, awesome. Through the bushes to the left and right, we enjoyed a "privacy", which we very much appreciated. The choice and variety of the meals in the morning, noon and evening was excellent, the staff very friendly and attentive. Of course we have enjoyed to go barefoot all the time. Even the housekeeping was always impeccable, the room was cleaned when we were en route. In general, the staff was very cheerful and friendly.
Two times we have enjoyed a massage at the Spa, which is absolutely recommendable. Also, the small but beautiful and well-maintained gym we used.
The house reef has convinced us too, in our view it is very suitable for “first time snorkellers". One can start from the beach to the breakwater and already see many small and larger fish and flocks, including baby sharks and small rays. After the breakwaters, in the somewhat deeper water (you could still stand), it has individual coral islands with many colorful fish to observe until there into the deep, dark blue sea, the "reef-edge" goes . One can also - with the exception of one side, which has constantly very strong current - snorkel around the island. The underwater world was very varied and colorful. In addition to the large variety of fish, including whitetip sharks we have also spotted turtles and large rays.

Thank you, Sunya, for your support! We will recommend you very much and look forward to book a next trip to the Maldives with you. Your competent and comprehensive advice, your rapid and reliable feedback and clarifications, uncomplicated communication by email or phone, and the perfect organization - we were very satisfied and happy! Thank you!

10 days @ Kanuhura, September 2013

When it was about to choose which island for our honeymoon, we fully trusted on the experiences of Sunya. This was well worth it !

After a pleasant flight via Dubai to Male we were greeted at the airport by a member of Kanuhura resort. The care in the Kanuhura lounge - before the water taxi transfer to the island – was already a very nice taste of what is going to expect us on the Island. Although the 45-minute flight with the water taxi was a bit turbulent, we arrived well at Kanuhura, where we have been given a warm welcome at the jetty. Despite a one-day weather depth at the start we enjoyed our honeymoon to the fullest. The service was simply unique. Thanks to Sunya's good and personal relations on the island we have been already expected everywhere and enjoyed several small surprises. Our 4 year old daughter felt completely comfortable from the start too. Since we were traveling in the off season our daughter enjoyed a “single-care” at the kids club. Nevertheless, a great program has been compiled for her every day. Another highlight - this time for the mother - was the visit to the Spa: Pure pampering! Whether in the Spa, restaurant, poolside or at room service, everywhere we met very friendly people who gave us top service. The whole area is very nicely laid out and very well maintained. The bungalows are stylish, modern and yet traditional. Every evening there was also a culinary highlight, the changing theme buffet left nothing to be desired and no one went to bed with an empty stomach.

We have been able to experience a lot on various trips, but one thing is certain – we have never been that spoiled as at Kanuhura! We can therefore highly recommend a paradise with eight letters – Kanuhura – as well as Sunya's Service.

We thank you again for the great service Sunya!

Greetings from Micha, Giulia and Marco

14 days @ Madoogali, September 2013

As always, if you book with MaledivenBucher GmbH, it is a guarantee for a reliable and well-organized trip to the Maldives .This is now the third time we have booked with Sunya Bucher and we were completely thrilled.

The flight with Emirates Airlines via Dubai was okay (no competition) and the transfer by seaplane has worked perfectly, as well as the assistance by the partner company with which Sunya is cooperating.

The value for money on the island Madoogali (in North Ari Atoll) was okay, the prices for drinks correspond to Swiss conditions. We booked full board, the food was varied, there was each day fresh grilled fish and various meats, excellent overall. The staff was very friendly and attentive, especially our waiter Habbib we want to wind a wreath. Also, a compliment belongs to our roomboy, our bungalow was cleaned twice a day, as well as towels were changed twice. The solitary beach bungalows are not up on a level for a 4*-resort anymore, but should according to statements from the island owner Mr. Hussain Shareef (who we had the pleasure to got to know personally), be renovated next year. We had the privilege to have been invited by Hussain Shareef for a personal private barbecue. It was the ultimate highlight of our holiday stay.

Even the underwater world at Madoogali was absolutely great and they include  "Shark guarantee" with white and black tip and nurse sharks. The weather was great and very warm 33 - 42 Cel air temperature / water 28 - 29. What is worth mentioning, as side note, the island was only about 30 - 40 % occupied with tourists, except on weekends there were large groups.

Conclusion: The island Madoogali we can highly recommend, of course booked through MaledivenBucher GmbH. We are already looking forward to the next trip to book in 2014 with Sunya Bucher.

My perfect day at Anantara Kihavah Villas, 12th July 2013

Like almost every morning I wake up early and sneak quietly out of our large 250m2 Beach Pool Villa. Just a few steps away my somewhat sleepy look enjoys the unique and colorful spectacle between the shimmering ocean, the coral reef that seems to be so close and almost touchable as well as the tropical vegetation of the island. The water temperature of 28 degrees simply invites me for a swim in the vastness of the Baa atoll. Return via the private beach I refresh myself in the openair bathroom under a waterfall-like shower and get ready for the yoga lesson with the teacher from India. On a deck at a prime location we are out for more than one hour doing the different physical and mental practices. With recovered energy, new mediated wisdom and a big smile on my face, I return to the villa, which now finds itselfs already full of life since our two boys practice happily in their own pool the number of possible rolling backwards, underwater with diving masks of course.

A little later we are as always barefoot on our way to the breakfast. The island shows it’s natural beauty at the interior as well as along the beach. The restaurants stand out for its modern architecture and stylish interiors. The breakfast offerings from around the world are exquisite presented and there is nothing, absolutely nothing to miss, and I will let myself go well with fresh juices, a glass of champagne, an omelet, tuna with chappati, some sushi and of course with many exotic fruits. And I am keep thinking that we most probably arrived on one of the top 5 luxury resorts in the Maldives.

Just before lunch we have an appointment to go for the seasonal Manta snorkeling and are naturally curious about it. After an interesting briefing by the Marine Biologist and a short ride by speedboat we discover promptly the first Mantas. With fins and masks on, we are already in the middle of the giants and joining them for over 30 minutes in their it seams to be weightless acting world. Back on the boat, the small group is very happy and passionate individual experiences are exchanged. The staff is happy too since the day before they spent more than 3 hours on the boat only to see one Manta briefly. Lucky us.

Back on the island resort we started to dive again but this time to the underwater restaurant called "Sea" for lunch. The first view is outstanding and while our children were taking pictures about any bypassing reef fish and a turtle too, we simultaneously started to enjoy an exclusive three-course menu paired with carefully selected wines and a best service overall. A truly unforgettable experience, this lunch was most probably our longest and most expensive one ever. The first time I was thinking: „What a day so far!“

In the late afternoon our children stopped by at the Kids Club; tinkering with palm leaves was on the program which they didn’t want to miss. Meanwhile my wife and I were looking forward to our SPA visit. Usually, and almost traditionally, I am going for the Balinese massage. At the reception we are warmly welcomed and all of a sudden catched by the typical SPA scents and sounds. The overwater treatment villas are luxurious, the view again gorgeous, the therapists very professional and at some point in time, with a view through the glassbottom beneath my SPA bed, I felt asleep for a few minutes.

After 12 hours of intense sunlight near the equator limit twilight begins slowly. Facing the sunset we settled in the two-story bar "Sky" to a fruity cocktail. The view from 6 meters height to the island is stunning, because the islands are on average only 1.5m above sea level. Then we eat together in the restaurant "Salt". The name says it all since amongst the most versatile dishes a different choice of salts are offered; overall from more than 11 countries. I enjoy as a main course a Maldivian fish curry specialty and a salt from the Himalayan mountains. Wow, what a combination. In the many conversations between the Maldivians and my family I realize once again what an admirable culture and warm hospitality they show. This evening I take a lot of it with me personally.

Back at the villa we find surprisingly a next day invitation to test the seabobs. The boys remind me that we would have to play tennis, throw balls in the 50-meter pool, drop in on the Teppanyaki restaurant and they still want to see dolphins, boredom probably does not comes on here. On the terrace I let the experiences of today review, though I probably shine almost as bright as the countless stars in the night sky: It was a perfect day! Anantara Kihavah is a paradise - and I have another favorite island.

@ Angaga, May 2013

Flight with Emirates via Dubai to Male, then by seaplane to the island of Angaga - everything worked out great as always. After a short ride by Dhoni the barefoot island presents in all its glory.

The beach villas are beautifully furnished. The highlight is the openair shower. It was a fantastic experience to take an openair shower. A beautiful view from the terrace, typical Maldives feeling.

The house reef is beautiful. Since it rained often and unfortunately the weather was rather bad, the snorkel trip in the early morning was always the most beautiful, because during the day the water was cloudy due to the waves. Turtles, whitetip reef sharks, nurse shark, etc. can be admired at Angaga.

Food and drink was just great. Many fresh fruits for breakfast, on request freshly cut by the chef, really great. Buffets with various dishes and a dessert buffet that leaves no wishes open round the day off perfectly.

Once again, Mrs Sunya Bucher has organized everything to my complete satisfaction. Thank you, Sunya!

10 days @ Kuredu, March 2013

Kuredu - island of dreams!
Even the approach by seaplane was an experience. A 40-minute flight over a wonderful water landscape with turquoise atolls. Circles and dots that only slightly look out of the water with white rings.

The approach to Kuredu was delightful. You could look at the island from above with dense vegetation all around and white sandy beach.
Just landed we heard from afar drumming with singing. When we got closer, we noticed that it was meant for us "newcomers". Friendly, local staff greeted us with local songs.

We had a wonderful beach villa in O 'area, very quiet, wonderful sandy beach and lush green vegetation. The various restaurants and bars with their friendly staff, offered plenty of food and drinks for everyone.

As I am a diver the diving station on Kuredu was very important to me. I was very pleased to meet such a professional diving center. The selection was huge. You could experience something new every day. Visit various dive sites, attend full-day boat trips, participate in several snorkeling tripps or graduate a professional diving courses with certificate.
The instructors and guides are well trained and one can tell that they perform their job with much joy and enthusiasm.
But even for non-divers there were some ways to go. Kayaking, paragliding, golf, football and surfing.

For me, this island is an absolute dream. Absolute island feeling, beautiful beaches, gorgeous water, vegetation, wonderful, wonderful buffet with varied selection and very friendly staff.

For me it's clear, I was not the last time on Kuredu!

Big thanks to MaledivenBucher GmbH! Ms Bucher has great advised me. The next time I book through you again!! I can only recommend everyone to trust this Maldives specialists. They will find exactly the right island for you!

10 days @ Kuredu, March 2013

The best comes first: It will not be our last holiday with MaledivenBucher GmbH! We are eager to see what Mrs Bucher will present us next year!

What we have experienced in the last 11 days in the Maldives, were especially beautiful beach holiday - beach holiday at its class for a very good value for money in an attractive hotel on the island of Kuredu.
After the first consultation, we were convinced that with MaledivenBucher GmbH we have found the right travel agency. We had the feeling from the very beginning, that Mrs Bucher knows every island personally. We have become aware of this small travel agency ( because of its informative website which describes the variour resorts very clear. After our resort choice the whole organization and management of the travel arrangements were handled very expeditiously.

The island Kuredu is located in Lhaviyani Atoll, a 45 minute flight from Male. The infrastructure of the hotel - 4 stars - surprised: 4 restaurants and bar's, 2 of them are located right by the pool, a PADI dive center and a golf course. All meals are buffet style set up, with show cooking as an important component. The island is kept scrupulously clean, on a barefoot island very important. Our beach villa was also very clean and functional. Between the beaches and restaurants operate electric taxis. On this island there is a sure not boring: A number of activities - also for children - are offered. Around the island, various diving reefs in the shortest distances are achievable, even snorkelers get easy access to the housereef. We can only recommend Kuredu.

14 days @ Eriyadu, December 2012

Mrs Bucher, we want to thank you for the professional and personal support. You called us a few times before the trip, then we received a check call by your partner's office in Male, and you cared for us even after the holiday.
So far, our experience has always been like this: you will get a nice and polite advise in travel agency X but once you have booked, it all ends and you don't hear anything from them again.
You gave us the feeling to be here for us at any time, should we need you.

The first impression upon arrival at Eriyadu was overwhelming, the mood was idyllic and the people very friendly and easy-going, even in the rain, which surprised us a few times. After 30 minutes it usually stopped, only 1x it was raining half day. We were from 9th - 23rd December at Eriyadu, sometimes there were unfortunately a bit too strong wind from the north, so we just went to the other side of the island, a circumnavigation takes anyhow no longer than 20 minutes. The many colorful fish around the coral reef was of course the greatest fascination.

To summarize - tutto insieme - it was a beautiful, idyllic and relaxing vacation, 14 days barefoot in the white sand, even at dinner, almost always!

We have already recommended MaledivenBucher GmbH because of the great service.

10 days @ Komandoo, December 2012

Our second trip to the Maldives (the first time we were on Veligandu) took us to the island Komandoo in Lhaviyani atoll.
We booked a water bungalow, which was decorated very spacious, super clean, and loving. The bungalow has a staircase with direct access to the sea. Great! The room was cleaned daily, mini-bar and wine fridge was stocked daily, the bed prepared every evening and provided with a nightcap.
The house reef has many small fish and some large schools of fish that are impressive (even an octopus we have seen). What we personally missed, were the sharks and larger fish. So a perfect island for people who are afraid of sharks, because it certainly has none of them!
The island is a pure barefoot island, even the bar and restaurant are provided with a sand floor. The interior of the island is very green and lovingly maintained.
All the staff on the island are very friendly and cheerful. At every meal there was a great buffet with each changing menu and great service with chilled towels to refresh. There is also an à-la-carte restaurant, which we visited once, in our view not necessary at all, since the buffet food is just as tasty.
For relaxation, we treated ourselves to a massage every other day at the spa, which is really advisable that are simply divine!
The only thing that disappointed us is the Dive Center. The prices for a dive of 90 USD are in our opinion quite high, especially when you consider that the first dive (Dive Safety) must be completed on the house reef. We were also told that we would not see more on the dives than at the house reef (which is free), so is not really worth to spend 90 USD.

We would like to express our warmest thanks to Mrs. Bucher for the excellent organization and the personal attention, we could enjoy our holiday to the fullest. We will recommend MaledivenBucher GmbH!

Nina Baumgartner & Matthias Bieri, CH-Effretikon
10 days @ Angaga, October 2012

From 4th to 15th October 2012 it was time for Matthias and myself to visit the beautiful Maldives for a second time. Our first visit was on Meeru (a rather large island) in 2009 and after three years we were really "ready for the island."
Since this time we were traveling the four of us, the requirements did not have to include all the same, we decided to book our holiday at MaledivenBucher GmbH. And how lucky we were there. Sunya did assist us very patiently with lots of information and advice to the side and after studies of at least 6 (!) resorts, we could finally decide on a rather small island called Angaga.
Matthias and my priority was diving, but I would not miss it yet to say a few words about the island. It is like "jumped out" of the brochure. Upon arrival by seaplane this beautiful white sand beach in front of us. Now of course we were curious if the beach bungalows also meets the expectations and see there YES! A clean spacious room, a small dressing room and of course the typical Maldivian bathroom harbored us the rather short time. Outside the bungalow there was a swing to relax and of course, two reserved deck chairs only for our bungalow. Perfectly. What's more, the kitchen is really great on this island. The buffet has left nothing to be desired, and especially has it always tasted so good that satiety was overused more than once.
But still our hobby during the day. On the homepage of the stationed dive SubAqua we have already booked 10 dives from Switzerland. On arrival we were welcomed and briefed a bit chilly, but with Jess as an instructor for the "Welcome Dive" we have been lucky. The base is not the most familiar, but when you already have enough experience in diving and can do dives by yourself, it is no problem to get there to find your way. Everything is there and easy to access what you need. For beginners, we would not recommend this island because of this special atmosphere. The diving trips offered by Dhoni are very diverse and well organized. The underwater world is as you imagine it in the Maldives - colorful and varied. Always worth a visit.
Speaking always worth a visit, thank you very, very, very much, Sunya for the great organization. The care in deciding which island we choose and if everything is ok, the organization how we were welcomed in Male and also all the little tips were great - we felt truly in good hands. We can really recommend MaledivenBucher GmbH! This is really personal service on top!

10 days @ Angaga, October 2012

The Maldives, for me a dream destination since a long time! This year my dream came true! Due to my "round" birthday this year, my partner and our friends have organized this trip. I did not know where it should go. 10 days before we left, I got  a packing list, and then we took off on 4th October 2012. We flew with Emirates via Dubai to Male. Only when I climbed back into the plane in Dubai, I saw where I will make the trip. My joy was enormous. My dream came true!
At the airport in Male we were greeted with name tags and everything went very swiftly. The 30-minute flight by seaplane to the island Angaga was already a first highlight for me. All these islands looked really great from above.
At the hotel, we were greeted warmly and were quickly able to get our beach bungalows. The bungalows were very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The open bath room was fantastic. What a feeling, showering outdoors. Unimaginable in our latitudes. The bungalows were cleaned twice a day.
Everything was like in the brochure! White sand beach, turquoise, crystal clear water and sunshine. Just wonderful! The Angaga Island is a small, super beautiful and original island. Just as I had imagined the Maldives. Lush greenery, beautiful ponds with water lilies. It was in my eyes all arranged beautifully and lovingly. There were two bars, a restaurant, a small spa area (the Balinese massage can I really recommend), a small fitness center and a dive center. The island was fully booked, nevertheless, it was that during daytime we had the feeling of being virtually alone. Actually, you could see the other guests almost only when eating. The food in the restaurant was fully characterized! We were spoiled for 10 days. It was also nice that we had during our entire holiday always had the same table. The staff at Angaga was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Nothing was missing.
The reef is only a few steps. Snorkelers as we came our money. The underwater world is diverse, and how we would like the Maldives.
For me, it was my best holidays! Pure relaxation and no trace of boredom (as many believe). Actually, there are no words to describe the whole. It was just like being in paradise! It was clear to me after 10 days that this is certainly not my only visit to the Maldives. I just have to go back! At this point a HUGE BIG THANK YOU to Tom, Nina and Matthias, that you have enabled me to this wonderful beautiful 10 days.
Sunya, also many, many thanks for the great organization. My next Maldives holiday I'll be back again for organizing by you! I can and I will highly recommend MaledivenBucher GmbH.

14 days @ Madoogali, October 2012

With Emirates via Dubai to Male was great, but the seaplane ride to the island of Madoogali was the highlight of the trip. After a short trip by Dhoni, the almost circular island presents in all its glory in the dazzling blue sea.

The beach villas are spread over the whole island. Comfortably furnished and very generous. Everything you need on site. Fantastic sea view you get with just a few steps from the beautiful palm-fringed path from the room towards the beach.

The highlight is the housereef. Snorkelling around the island and watch white- and black-tip reefsharks, just great! Turtles and moray eels are also represented. But if you can watch an eagle ray in the early morning searching for food, the holiday is perfect.

Food and drinks should not be forgotten and also a spoiled palate can make his choice at Madoogali. The range is wide and the quality of food in the upper segment.

Once again, I would like to thank Mrs Sunya Bucher for the good consulting and great service before, during and after my holiday!

I am already looking forward to my next holiday in Maldives - of course booked again through MaledivenBucher GmbH.

2 days @ Fun Island (after a Sri Lanka Trip), August 2012

We spent a wonderful time at Fun Iceland. Even the landing was a treat. By speed boat we went to the island (40 min).
The bungalow was adequate with a fridge, air conditioning and a nice bathroom. It was cleaned daily. The beach is very nice on the whole island. A snorkeling trip we have also to recommend which necessarily
is. The food was world class, every day something different and always fresh.
The staff very friendly.
Souvenirs can be purchased on the island, as well as at the airport, the prices do not take much.
On the island, everything can be paid with Visa, tipping is always welcomed. It was spoken and understood German.
The organisation by MaledivenBucher was to our full satisfaction.
We will visit the Maldives again.

6 days @ Eriyadu, June 2012

In June 2012 we were guests at the island of Eriyadu for almost a week. The recovery factor in the Maldives is extremely high and very suitable for "release the daily business." The highlights are certainly the always friendly service, a beautiful house reef and the vegetation on the island itself. Since the island is very small and if you intent is to plan some trips, peak season is certainly more appropriate. Because the activities are carried out only with at least 6 people. Who is sufficient, however, with snorkeling, spa and a pool is in good hands also during the off-season. The rooms are suitably set up and I was amazed at how rarely we had an insect in the bungalow. Here is a preventive already worked with some.
Mrs Bucher took good care of us, we can only keep the thumbs up. Not just in the beginning but just before the trip and after the trip the service was top. Be it information about the island, the country or travel technology. Also, the price-performance ratio was absolutely fine for the Maldives. In any case, such a personalized service gives you a good feeling. Certainly, to recommend. Thumbs up.

6 days @ Lux* Maldives, June 2012

Shortly after our arrival at Male and a warm welcome we were accompanied to the Lux* Airport lounge. After a refreshment we made the onward journey by seaplane. After 25 minutes of adventurous flight over the islands, we were greeted warmly at LUX. An employee took us to reception and gave us some information about the island and guided us in our comfortable beach pool villa. The villa has met our requirements to 100 percent (Villa 330).
The staff are very friendly and helpful. It has been lacking in nothing. The ladies in the spa very lovely, the chefs always have a smile on their lips, the cleaning staff very courteous. The whole island is very well maintained and chosen details make the island a paradise. We can highly recommend LUX. It was perfect in everything. Ideal for honeymooners. The honeymoon has exceeded our expectations by far. It was soooo PERFECT!
We would like to thank Mrs. Bucher for the perfectly organized holiday. In particular, the support for the journey home ... We will be happy to recommend you to others and will contact you again for another holiday in the Maldives. You do it so great!

Joining a business trip, 6 various resorts, May 2012

From 16 - 23 May 2012 I was allowed to accompany Sunya on her business trip to the Maldives. I was very excited about this trip, I was previously visiting Fihalhohi, Embudu and Eriyadu.
The flight with Emirates via Dubai was very pleasant. I personally appreciated the stopover in Dubai. Upon arrival at Male airport, as always, everything went swiftly. Currently the airport is under renovation. I was aware that visiting six resorts in six days is no recovery, as is otherwise customary in the Maldives. I was very excited about the different categories of good middle class to luxurious 6-star category. At our expections with the sales managers, we were given an insight into the different types of villas, spas, restaurants, and even a private wine cellar.
I must say that I was allowed to collect lots and lots of new impressions. The 5 - and 6-star resorts Coco Palm Bodu Hithi, Niyama and W Retreat have made me with a "wow" factor, and it was fun once to stay in such luxurious surroundings. But the ultimate Maldives feeling give me the little barefoot islands Eriyadu and Madoogali with absolutely great house reef. In Madoogali it was love at first sight and I'm already looking forward to the next Maldives holiday there. Well, who is once infected with the Maldives virus can no longer be cured. 
Thanks to her in-depth knowledge and local contacts Sunyas customers can expect serious consulting and profit of more favorable offers. I can recommend MaledivenBucher to all travelers who wants to visit the Maldives.

17 days @
Embudu, May 2012
I flew along with Mrs & Mr Geisseler via Dubai to Male. At the airport we were picked up and taken by speedboat to the island of Embudu.
There, I moved into my Superior bungalow, the room is appropriately furnished, clean and it's all there, what you need.
The island with its lush vegetation is so nice, I was very excited, just great. The beach is as you imagine the Maldives - just gorgeous. The absolute highlight is the house reef, feather tail stingrays, turtles, reef sharks, one can enjoy and admire the rich biodiversity.
The food is of very good quality and you will find at the buffet for gourmets always the right thing. Embudu is 100% value for money.
Finally, a big thank you to Mrs. Bucher for this super organization of my vacation!
A-Z of everything was simply perfect! The next holidays are coming and they are almost booked ... of course at ... MaledivenBucher!

@ Embudu, May 2012
Once again it was time for a relaxing holiday in the Maldives.
On the internet we found by chance, after surfing around, the link of www.
We have checked this very friendly website and requested a quote for the island of Embudu and for the flights.
Embudu has convinced us, and we were recommended to choose Emirates Airlines. After several phone calls and lots of e-mail traffic, the booking was done. Mrs. Sunya Bucher has advised us competent and successful. In addition, their offer was clearly better than other tour operator in Switzerland.
After a quiet and relaxing flight (Emirates is TOP!) on arrival in Male we have received a welcome like VIPs with personalized name shield by the Partner Agency of MaledivenBucher.
Embudu is a ***-resort, all right, the true value for money, the staff was very nice and courteous, there was nothing to complain about. We had booked a water bungalow. For snorkeling enthusiasts Embudu is an ideal island, guaranteed to see sharks (Black tip sharks), eagle rays, moray eels, e.g.
And 17 days, the most beautiful weather, it was not a single day with rain.
We can highly recommend Sunya Bucher, as well as the island of Embudu and are looking forward to our next booking in 2013 at Sunya Bucher.

9 days @ Angaga, January 2012

The Maldives, beautiful sandy beaches, sunshine, crystal clear water and for us the epitome of relaxation. We knew that we just have to go! So we rolled around by all the great holiday brochures, we clicked through countless websites and soon lost the overview of sheer offerings. By chance, my aunt recommended me to check MaledivenBucher on the web. That's what we did and after a long personal conversation, we felt so good at Sunya’s advise and consulting that we let her organize our dream vacation without hesitation. And we are back to book our next holiday in the Maldives again with her! From the beginning, everything went smoothly. The weeks before departure we have still peppered her with questions. All our questions were answered or clarified within a very short time. Customer service is not only written to be great, it IS GREAT! We were very pleased! Thank you so much, Sunya!
Our Opinion: MaledivenBucher is excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
To the island Angaga we can say it's a nice, small and simple island. Very original as well as other guests who have already traveled to several islands, confirmed. No posh island with a pool! It has a small spa (friendly staff), gym (who needs it) and a diving school (we have not used). Although the resort was well booked, we never had the feeling to be cramped.
The reef can be admired in a few steps ... we were excited about the many different fish that roamed right by the beach. We were able to observe up close a spring-tail stingrays and white tip reef shark.
As beginners, our first snorkelling experience at our expense!
The bungalow was very clean and functional, we liked the open bathroom very much.
On Angaga there is only one buffet restaurant, which is great for everyone ... for everybody’s appetite there was something and the dessert buffet was delicious! At noon we approved a sandwich with lettuce on the Main Bar. The prices are not too high. A 1.5l bottle of water costs $ 3.50 and the sandwiches were about $ 5.

Mrs. U. Görlitz & Mr. F. Hareter, A-Vienna
7 days @ Eriyadu / 8 days @ Angsana Ihuru, December 2011/January 2012

Eight years ago we were already in the Maldives (Filitheyo and Mirihi). If you know of other beaches and snorkeling, you know the benefits of the Maldives to appreciate even more, namely close to home reefs, beautiful beaches, many and very different fishes, good food, warm water, etc.
Because of the postings on we have chosen to visit Eriyadu and Angsana Ihuru this time. This was due to our priorities, namely a nice reef close by, almost no flow, beautiful beaches, 2 islands within the same atoll, so the move does not last too long.
So we were looking for a travel agency that  would offer these two islands. So we have come to MaldivenBucher and Mrs Bucher made our trip organized to the last detail.
On arrival we were greeted with a big name tag at the airport and then taken by speedboat to Eriyadu. The island move to Ihuru only lasted about 2 hours. On departure, we have been accompanied at the airport to the check-in desk.

Eriyadu is a beautiful green island with wonderful and very near-reef to snorkel with lots of colorful fish. The beach is beautiful. The double bungalows are a little decent, what has not bothered us much. The food is excellent, especially the good curries. The island is highly recommended for those who have similar needs, as we have (pretty close reef without flow, nice beach, good food).
Angsana Ihuru is a very beautiful green island with a beautiful reef with many (large) fishes. The beaches are beautiful and the villas as well. The food here is also very good, every day there was excellent grilled fish. Ihuru reef is more beautiful, larger and with more beautiful corals, larger fish and also the villas are beautiful and without direct neighbours as they are single standing. From the perspective of value for money we would prefer Eriyadu.
We are glad to have visited both islands and can highly recommend both of them.
Many thanks to Sunya Bucher for the good job!

8 days @ Holiday Island & 3 days @ Velassaru, August 2011

In June we began to plan our vacation in August 11. There should be a place where it's warm and we even can recover properly. We knew that Sunya offers holidays in the Maldives, has personally visited many islands and always raved about how beautiful and relaxing the Maldives are. So we divided Sunya our wishes and she offered us within one day different islands within different categories and price ranges. Our various changes and requests were handled swiftly and we got all the needed information. The prices were compared with other Swiss travel agencies cheaper and we could also benefit from the low U.S. dollar exchange rate.
We have spent 8 days on Holiday Island, a beautiful small island in Ari Atoll with a white sandy beach. The rooms were simple and practical, the service was very nice and accommodating. The spa is highly recommended, very traditional and with open treatment rooms. Although the island was well utilized, we have rarely encountered other guests.
Because we wanted to visit the capital Male, we have booked 3 days at Velassaru in South Male Atoll. There we received a very warm welcome and could - thanks to the good contacts of Sunya - enjoy a special service at the restaurant Vela, we got a great table and it was donated to us several drinks and the staff was very concerned about our welfare. Velassaru has a beautiful beach, the service level is high, the rooms are beautifully furnished and luxurious and even the spa, which is on stilts over the sea, is highly recommended. Our trip to Male was short, but still we got a lot of impressions of this special city and its residents to take home.
At the end of our trip it was clear to us that we will once again take a vacation in the Maldives, it is a true paradise with a high recovery factor! Thank you, Sunya, that you showed us this beautiful part of the world. Next time we will book again through MaledivenBucher.

7 days @ Medhufushi & 7 days @ Angsana Velavaru, Juli 2011

For several years already we have had the desire to spend our holidays in the Maldives. After this has failed either to high costs or lack of time, this year we finally booked through MaledivenBucher two wonderful weeks. The holidays were all around a successful experience. Sunya Bucher has advised us perfectly, presented several alternatives and finally two really beautiful islands were reserved for our family. The prices were cheaper by a multiple than the local tour operators and the advice was very detailed and accurate. The first week we spent on Medhufushi, a small island with Water Villas and a world-class diving school. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. A very great experience for all who want to either dive or just simply relaxing. The second week was on Velavaru in a very nice beach villa just relaxing and special. Designed more to saving vacation, Velavaru Resort is a great dive sites that are very close and easily reachable. Two wonderful weeks, which were very well organized and in both of the two resorts are recommended for various reasons only.

Joining a business trip, 5 various resorts, June 2011

Beginning in June 2011 I had the opportunity to accompany, Sunya on a business trip to the Maldives and to visit five resorts. Before our departure I have not really believed in it, to experience and live this dream. I knew the Maldives until now only by pictures and stories from friends. Arrived in time, one receive a very friendly welcome, everything runs extremely fussy. The possibilities to reach the islands (by speed boat or seaplane) are both unique experiences. The feeling of gliding across the Indian Ocean or to look at the atolls from a birdseye view are fantastic - I have not set up until today what is more beautiful! On each island we had our inspection tour with the Sales Manager, we looked at all villa types, the restaurants, the spa, kid's club, gym, just everything. After this "official" part, Sunya and I always have inspected the island on your own to complete our personal impression and to discuss. Whoever believes it would be boring in the Maldives, is mistaken. It just depends on what you need for a perfect holiday and everyone finds "his personal" dream island, a completely quiet resort or one with lots of activity.
Although we were constantly on the move and had no time to indulge in the sweet time doing nothing, I never felt it as stressful. In the Maldives, you lose all sense of time and within short you can switch off completely. It's like dipping into a travel brochure, you must have experienced it to understand it. Sunya has always spoken of the "Maldives fever", after those days I was definitely infected too! I'm already looking forward to my next trip to the island paradise with my family. Of course I'm going to book at Sunya, because along with her excellent local contacts and personal advice, she offers much cheaper prices than other TO's in the Swiss market.

16 days at Zitahli Resort & Spa Kuda-Funafaru, October 2010

After several years of holidays in Bali we have considered a different destination for our early October holiday. A friend recommended us to the Maldives. At first we were very skeptical, because we like to eat in the evening outside the hotel complex. Would our 10-year-old son not get bored on the Maldives?
We have been in contact with MaledivenBucher that was recommended to us. With the competent and good advice from Mrs. Bucher, we have found an island, which corresponds to our needs. We have done price comparisons with our travel office in Bern, where we usually book our holiday since 10 years: the difference was immense!
The Zitahli Kuda-Funafaru is led by an Italian management, which we particularly want to highlight. Since our requested room was already sold out, we received an upgrade at no extra charge in a water villa. These villas are large and beautifully decorated but not recommendable for children under 12 years. The staff was always very friendly and competent. The à-la-carte restaurant is highly recommended. The extra cost was worthwhile, and as great gourmets we were fully at our expense! The spa (which is in Balinese hand) is under very professionally run and the treatments are wonderful. The beach and the sea is a dream, the sunsets fantastic.
We set a high standard on our holiday. The time at Zitahli Kuda-Funafaru was to our complete satisfaction. Our son loved it and would immediately go back!
In the Maldives you can enjoy 100% recovery, no trace of boredom! The next holiday in this paradise we will again book through MaledivenBucher. The value for money is top, the consulting detailed and professional.

14 days @ Kanuhura, July 2010

At first we were a little skeptical against the Maldives (we had the usual prejudices, that it might be boring there...), but the personal and professional advice of Mrs. Bucher, and also the very attractuve price offer convinced us to book. Our first Maldivian holiday was a huge success; we liked it very much and never felt bored! Kanuhura is a fantastic island with a beautiful beach, very nice rooms, good food and excellent service! We were thoroughly satisfied and will be considering MaledivenBucher again for a next trip to Maldives.
